Here’s how to Direct Deposit your government benefits

If it is your first time setting up your benefits...

First, you'll need:

A copy of your most recent federal benefit check, 12 digit check number, and the dollar amount of the check

Social Security number or claim number

The routing, account number, and account type for your card account:

Then:

1. Visit the US Treasury's Go Direct website
2. Agree to the Security Notice and click "General Public"
3. Complete the Benefit Payment form with the information gathered and submit.

That's it! Now you’re re1ady to receive your benefits on up to 2 days faster.

If you are already receiving your benefits with Direct Deposit and want to switch accounts...

For Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSA/SSI) benefits:

Call 1(800)SSA-1213 (1-800-772-1213), or visit the SSA website to log in or create a new account, then follow the instructions provided. You will need your Routing and Account information above.

For Veterans Association (VA) benefits:

Visit the VA’s ebenefits website, then either log in or create a new account and follow the instructions.

For all other government benefits:

Please visit the US Treasury's GoDirect website to see if instructions for your benefits provider are available. If not, you may need to contact the provider for instructions directly. Have your Routing and Account number handy.
